Woman dies in crash on Highway 400

A 42-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 400 near MacTier early Friday morning. Provincial Police say the crash happened in the southbound lanes of the highway near Lake Joseph Road just before 7 a.m. Two other passengers were airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with life-altering injuries.  The driver was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. After just one year of fundraising, Riverside Minor Baseball is breaking ground on a new Miracle League baseball diamond in east Windsor. A sod turning ceremony was held Wednesday morning to mark the official start of construction. The field, next to the existing Riverside baseball diamonds on Wyandotte Street East, will allow children with disabilities to participate in minor baseball programs. Airbnb users are now paying a tax on their nightly rental in Ottawa. Starting today, Airbnb will collect a four per cent “municipal accommodation tax” on all Ottawa listings. The tax will then be remitted to the City of Ottawa to help support Ottawa tourism. Ottawa was the first Ontario city to enter into a Municipal Accommodation Tax collection agreement with Airbnb. A 17-year-old boy is dead after a crash north of Prince Albert on Tuesday evening. RCMP were called to a two vehicle collision near the junction of White Star and Cloverdale Roads just after 5 p.m. Officers say the 17-year-old driver from Prince Albert was pronounced dead at the scene.
