Police say that 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being struck by bullet fragments on Friday night near Jan Lake, during a Ministry of Environment operation to remove four problem bears from the area. At around 10 p.m. a Ministry of Environment Conservation officer fired a shotgun up at the bears in a tree. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority said Wednesday surgeries were underway when an operating room air exchange malfunctioned at St. Boniface Hospital. As a result, health authority officials tell CTV News there is a small infection risk to these patients who were notified about what happened and are being monitored as a precaution. Repairs are expected to be done by Friday but in the meantime 16 surgeries were moved to other facilities and 12 procedures are being rescheduled. Guelph Police are investigating after a man committed an incident act in Guelph park Monday afternoon. Police say they were called to Royal City Park around 2:30 p.m. for a report of an indecent act. It is alleged the man approached a woman in the park and began speaking in a sexual manner while touching himself. Police search the area, but the man was not found. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa.  The first “heat event” of the season will take place in portions of Central and Eastern Ontario Sunday.  A warm and humid airmass is expected to move into the region with temperatures between 20 and 31 degrees Sunday.
