Michelle Knight, one of three women who were held captive for 11 years by Ariel Castro, has spoken to the BBC about her brutal experience.

Ms Knight, Gina DeJesus and Amanda Berry were held together by Castro, who was imprisoned for life for the crimes. He committed suicide in prison last September.

Speaking to the BBC’s Gavin Esler, Michelle Knight described her time in the house as “sheer torture”.

But she said she was trying to put the past behind her and was looking forward to the future.

French and american lovers reunited 75 years on from WW2 – BBC News



In 1944, KT Robbins was stationed with his regiment in Briey, eastern France, where he fell in love with an 18-year-old French girl, Jeannine Pierson née Ganaye.
Two months later, he had to leave the village in a hurry for the eastern front, leaving them both wondering whether they would ever meet again.
He kept a picture of her, and showed it to French journalists when he went to France for the commemorative ceremonies marking the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
To his surprise, journalists managed to track her down.

He’s the first millionaire bug-bounty hacker, which means he gets paid to find glitches in the software of some of the world’s biggest companies.
Mr Lopez made his money on the world’s biggest ethical hacking platform: HackerOne.

Luftwaffe ace flies in Spitfire – BBC News



One of Germany’s most highly decorated World War Two pilots has achieved a long-held ambition – to fly in a Spitfire.
Hugo Broch, 95, took to the skies over Kent, where the RAF held the line during the Battle of Britain.
He was credited with 81 victories in 324 missions during the war.
