As someone who has worked in music video promotion for nearly 20 years, I want to share with you the biggest question I am asked here at HIP: how do I get my music video on MTV? Well, ladies and gentlemen, attaching the brand of your artistry to an international brand like MTV is not easy.

Why pay them a large sum of money to have your new music video close-captioned, quality checked, and then submitted through their portal to MTV, mtvU, MTV’s Pluto channels? No need to panic; we all have had to fine tune this process, and have even stunk at it in the past. How can we make sure we learn the lessons and begin attracting, recruiting and retaining those A+ Players?
1. Define what an A-B-C player looks like within your organization and communicate throughout the ENTIRE organization. The US has been measles-free for 15 years but there has been a new outbreak, which started at Disneyland in California. The theme park has been praised for its handling of the outbreak, which may have been triggered by an overseas visitor. The spread of cases across seven states and Mexico is being blamed on parents who have chosen not to give their children the MMR vaccine, due to concerns about potential side effects. No authoritative research has been published to back up claims that the vaccine may be linked to autism and bowel disease.
